K1 Security

Your car.
Only yours.

K1 opens only for an authorized phone, and only when that phone is right next to the car.

How K1 keeps your car safe.

Three layers between a thief and your car. And one rule: no authorized phone nearby, no power to your key.

Level 1
A key made for your car alone.
Commands are encrypted with a key unique to your car. Only your authorized phones can connect.
Level 2
Distance, measured. Not guessed.
K1 measures how far your phone really is: to the inch with UWB, to a few feet without. A relay can’t fake a phone that isn’t there.
Level 3
A deadline on every request.
Each session must authenticate within a set window. Miss it, and K1 blocks the request and stays silent.

The attack K1
is built against.

Keyless cars are stolen without breaking a window: a relay device picks up your key fob’s signal through the wall of your house and carries it to an accomplice at the car. The car thinks the key is there, unlocks and starts.

With a key fob
The fob answers anyone who asks.
It transmits whenever it is queried, from your hallway or your pocket. A relay just needs to be close enough to listen.
With K1
Nothing to relay.
Your key’s board sits inside K1 and is not even powered until an authorized phone proves, by measured distance, that it is really at the car. There is no signal to carry.

Two radios.
One key.

Bluetooth Low Energy carries the encrypted commands. Ultra‑wideband measures the distance. Together they give you keyless entry that opens for you and nobody else.

Someone breaks into the car

There’s no key in the car to steal: its board stays unpowered.

K1 has no GPS

Location comes from the phone. K1 has no GPS of its own.
